I heard from a friend that these have begun to ship. Anyone find them yet? Also I saw in the recent Lee’s Toy Review magazine that there was going to be a Mezco exclusive Chris figure. Any info about this like when it might be available?

Series 2 has yet to ship.
DarkHorse

Would that exclusive Chris fig be sold through Lee's? Or where? I'm intrigued.
We definitely should start a sightings thread once series 2 starts to ship. I'm looking forward to them!
Oliver D

The article in Lee’s said it would be sold thru Mezco’s website. I hope we see series 2 soon.

Does anyone have more info on that Chris figure? Is it for sure coming out on the Mezco site?
Is there any chance that we can have some more information about the release date of these figures? We've been kinda left in the dark for quite some time now. According to several websites (Amazon being one), they will be released in 2 days. Can anyone confirm this? If not, when?

End of Feb/ Early March
I had a look on Amazon again today and they have changed the date to the 1st of March.. hope they aren't going to keep putting the date back.

I can't wait to get these. So we are looking at late Feb early March? That is great seeing as how it is so close. Do we have any more info on the exclusive Chris?

Lee's actually said the Chris figure would be given away at Toy Fair, and sold through Club Mez, to clear up any confusion.
Oliver D
02-18-2005, 05:30 PM
When will the Chris figure go on sale at Club Mez?
Oliver D
02-19-2005, 09:17 PM
Well after seeing the Toy Fair pics 2005 will be a great year for Family Guy fans :D
DarkHorse
02-20-2005, 09:16 AM
Yeah, great pics. The only thing that bugged me was the variant Death figs. Now I have to go out and get both. I thought he was going to be packaged with both heads?
Otherwise, great lineups!

Yes the Death situation bugs me to. I wonder witch one will be the harder of the 2 to find. So does anyone have any info on when toy fair Chris will go on sale at Club Mez? Also I went to a local toy show yesterday and went up to the booth where I originally bought my series 1 FG figures and asked about series 2. He said that he didn’t expect them for 2 months. I thought they are suppose to be out late Feb early March. I hope he was mistaken

Of course, how would the two alternate heads work, since the skull one has the hood DOWN?

Removable heads?
Oliver D
02-23-2005, 03:29 PM
Does anyone know witch of the 2 Deaths will be the harder to find? Or will they be pretty much even?
Oliver D
02-23-2005, 03:48 PM
Series 2 is shipping now from Mezco Direct. I called Mezco and asked about the Death situation. The skull version is 1 per 5 cases so it will obviously be the harder of the 2 to find and the sets will most likely have the hooded version. I ordered my set and should have them in a week, can’t wait
Larson

Removable heads?
Here, look at the actual head and try to imagine how it would work:

See that? The hood is down. There would be no way to have interchangeable heads without the sculpt being completely destroyed.

Well that sucks. I liked both heads. It would have been better to just even pack the two Deaths, but of course all toy companies love chases for some reason. Bleh.

I'm not really a big fan of the figures, but it's not really Mezco's fault. It's just that 2D shows are really, REALLY hard to turn into 3D.

I'll try to post some pictures of Series 2 tomorrow. My Series 1 figures are at work.
Naked Peter has a winking smiley face http://board.mezco.net/images/smilies/wink.gif where his hoo-hoo should be.
Meg has plastic lenses in her glasses http://board.mezco.net/images/smilies/cool.gif. Her tater tots look a little bigger than I remember from the show.
The album that comes with Rufus Griffin is a cardboard album sleeve with a plastic record inside.
I rate them in the following order: Quagmire, Meg, Death, Naked Peter, Rufus Griffin and Mutant Stewie.
Nut Bunnies
02-26-2005, 12:24 AM
I still stand by the fact that Mutant Stewie should have been a pack-in, and even the accessories he comes with isn't enough for what you pay.

Just received my 2 cases of toys today here in Alberta, Canada. A little bit displeased with how they were packaged however. The plastic sleeves between figures was awesome so that the clear windows didn't get scratched, however all the cards were damaged fairly well, as well as some of the bottoms/sides of the clear plastic.
1 of the 2 Meg figures I got was missing 1/2 her accessories (both purses) and thus far I'm a bit chapped about it.
The toys are fantastic, don't get me wrong, just feel a bit let down here personally :(

Oliver D
03-04-2005, 07:45 PM
Series 2 has hit Hot Topic. Scored 2 skull head Deaths. The cases do also seem to be evenly packed with 2 of each per case. Went to 2 different Hot Topics and both had one each of the skull Death
DarkHorse
03-04-2005, 11:29 PM
They are also on tower.com -- $10 each! Death is gone already, though. He's gonna be the top seller IMO.

03-08-2005, 11:59 PM
Do we know how rare the skull head Death is? It seems his popping up on eBay a lot and I'm reading of people finding him rather easily at Hot Topic.
Haunted Hal
03-09-2005, 02:04 PM
I don't know how rare it is, but they don't seem hard to find. Some stores allow you to order the variant directly online, such as CmdStore.com at http://shop.store.yahoo.com/cmdstore/696198200164nohood.html or Toyglobe.com at http://www.toyglobe.com/details.php?type=111025.
goldengonzo
03-09-2005, 04:32 PM
I'm pretty bummed. I ordered a case of FG2 because I thought that each Death were 1X each case, but I guess the chase is rarer than that. At least the pack out is even. That's one mistake that ToyBiz made that Mezco hasn't copied. Too bad they did copy the chase mistake.
Haunted Hal
03-09-2005, 06:25 PM
You can usually discover how much of an item a company has in stock by typing a large number in the "quantity" window. It will then bounce back to the maximum they have available. CmdStore only has 7 skull head variants left. Toyglobe says there are only 10 left, but seems to allow multiple orders of 10, so either this is a mistake or they'll let you order 10 at a time. Either way, it looks like even the online stores have very limited stock of this figure.

What a good day it turned out to be. Went to my local K-Mart for a couple of things, and I saw the new Episode III Toys (NOT the "Preview" Figures), so I grabbed up a bunch of them - Vader, Grevious, The Battle Masters series, The Grevious Unleashed Figure.... they had all of them out on the shelves. I snagged all that I could because I knew that they aren't supposed to be out until April 2.
Get up to the register, and they won't ring up. An error code is produced, basically telling the clerk that they are selling the item before they are supposed to. Long story short, two managers later I'm leaving the store empty-handed and broken-hearted.
So I decide to go to Suncoast and see if they want to take my money. Boy, did they! Every Series 2 Figure, including both Deaths. I'll be scouting them pretty frequently to see if they get anymore Skull-Face Deaths and if so, I'll put 'em up for sale in the Buy/Sell Forum.

The hooded one is definatly better. Its how Death looks all the time, not just in Family guy but how the hood up is how Death looks most of the time everywhere.
The skull one is still cool though, but Death only has his hood down for 2 gags in Family Guy.

I picked all mine up via pre-order from Killertoys and got the skull death, and then found the regular at Suncoast. I like the skull better, mainly because I can pose him drinking a beer w/his jaw kind of half opened. It looks pretty goofy. :)
Quagmire does look a bit weird, I agree, but it's a good kind of weird IMO. His head is freakin' huge! At least he stands really well on his own - no shelf diving and I've had him up for over a week now. AND he stands well holding blow-up doll & beer. Impressive.
