It makes me somewhat sad that people are so willing to help out when a disaster strikes on the other side of the world, but don't seem to care about the hunger, poverty, homelessness, pitiful education, lack of quality healthcare, etc. that occur in their own backyards on a daily basis. For example, as far as natural "disasters" go, in the U.S. there are many people in Florida who are still homeless as a result of the 3 hurricanes that went through there months ago. :(
Don't get me wrong, I understand that the tsunami was horribly devestating, the victims are certainly deserving of aid, and I do think it's cool that Mezco is doing what they are doing.
I just wish people (in general) would be as giving and compasionate about those in need in their own countries.

Sly you have such valid points. If people want to give/help, often times we don't have to look much further than our own "back yards". I've placed an order with the store, and I am happy to know that in a very small way, I may have helped alittle.

I'm glad people seem to understand where I was coming from on this: not lack of empathy for the tsunami victims, just wishing people would care more "year round" (not just during disasters) and in their own communities/countries. :)

Alot of the time when I see celebrities aiding charities it seems that they are going for publicty. I remember where George Clooney was aided the the tsunami victims and on live t.v he forgot what the charity even was!! Now does he care??
