Since you're starting to develop a strong relationship with Dark Horse Comics (Hellboy, The Goon), what about the Mask??
And no, I don't mean the Jim Carrey movie, (as cool as that would be)...nor the upcoming psychological thriller Son of the Mask (that's what I'M calling it at least. If you can sit through it, it's a psychological thriller)....
I mean the Mike Richardson, HUGE bug eyed, huge teeth...ULTRA violent, dark humored Mask!!
You could make it in scale with the upcoming HB, and Goon stuff, and possibly a cartoony 10 inch rotocast.
Whatcha say?

I suggested this a couple of months back in my forum "My Wishlist" along with 50 cent figures. I'm glad someone else wants to see Mask Figures!!! :)

As much as I agree it'd be pretty cool, I don't think it would be a wise buisness decision for Mezco.
I mean we can all see how terrible the new movie looks, it's not gonna make people wanna go and buy the products associated with it.
Oh and this is my first post here, Hi guys :) ...

The ads keep saying "from the director of Cats and Dogs" like it's something to be proud of.
Yeah, comic based figures would be cool. It's just more fun to bitch about what you hate.

Hey Devil, welcome. I see what you mean, but it makes great sense for Mezco. If you make the figures based on the initial property and not the new movie, they will sell. The movie has a tremendous following (as does the cartoon) and there are many fans of the original, brilliant books (they sell out every year here in the UK).
I think it makes nothing but sense, and I'd love to see mezco approach it. :)

I thought that this would be a Son of a Mask topic since I just heard about that sequel on the radio last night on Loveline. http://board.mezco.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif I have no idea who the Mask is that you're referring to.

The mask started as a comic book about a possesed wooden mask that would basically turn anyone that wore it into a serial killing cartoon character. It was a deeply dark and ultra violent book. When a movie was in the works, multible attempts to make it a horror type of film were made but none worked. In the end, they decided to make it a slapstick anti-hero based comedy with then up and coming actor Jim Carry as the lead. It was enjoyable on some levels, but not very true to it's sorce. Now we have this sequal that nobody is going to enjoy.
