Corpses Bride
Corpse Bride carries on in the dark, romantic tradition of Tim Burton's classic films Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Set in a 19th century European village, this stop-motion animated feature follows the story of Victor (Johnny Depp), a young man who is whisked away to the underworld and wed to a mysterious Corpse Bride (Helena Bonham-Carter), while his real bride, Victoria (Emily Watson), waits bereft in the land of the living. Though life in the Land of the Dead proves to be a lot more colorful than his strict Victorian upbringing, Victor learns that there is nothing in this world, or the next, that can keep him away from his one true love. It's a tale of optimism, romance and a very lively afterlife, told in classic Tim Burton style.
A Trailer is now online at http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/corpse_bride/ (http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/corpse_bride/)

Here is a look at Neca's new MOTU staction figures. Statue-Action figures.
"The two characters chosen for the first wave are the evil warlord - Hordak and the crab-like creature - Clawful. Each of these characters were chosen not only for their popularity, but also for the ease of being able to get them together and into the hands of MotU fans everywhere with the least amount of delay. And as for Clawful, he's been sitting on our shelf, completely finished and awaiting the 6" treatment for about three years now. His time has finally come.
As for the fans that are worried that they may not get to see their favorite MotU character in this new format, don't be. We plan to keep this line going as long as we possibly can in order to try to get to each and every previously neglected MotU character there is. Assortments will be designed in order to integrate both the powerhouses and the minions of the MotU mythos with a few surprises thrown in here and there.
The second wave will consist of the elephantine hero Snout Spout, the odor emitting stench-master Stinkor, and a character never before revealed in the current MotU line's 6" format Hordak's hunter, Grizzlor! And if you're going to ask, yes, Grizzlor will have real fur, well, it's fake real fur. Images of the second wave should be popping up in another few weeks or so."
Each character will feature a faction themed display base. Statues will also be in scale to the Mattel action figures and will include removeable weapons. The Four Horsemen continue to explain that "Even though, because of both cost and licensing restrictions, we aren't able to do a mini-comic or collector's card for the 6" scaled MotU cold-cast static figures, illustrations for the packaging will be done by two of MotU history's biggest and most knowledgeable fanboys, Emiliano Santalucia and Val Staples!"

I am really happy to see that the Horsemen are still putting out some of the coolest MOTU stuff ever. Why exactly was the action figure line cancelled? I thought it was one of the coolest lines in recent memory, until all the redeco crap that is. Aside, from a few of the "unnecessary features/repaint" figs-the line was doing an awesome job of recapturing classic characters with some of the newest technology in sculpt and design. I really liked seeing MOTU back on the pegs, and now they are gone. :sob:

Hey Gang,
Here is some SOTA Toys News
SOTA Toys, one of the most dynamic, fastest-growing, and critically-acclaimed action figure and collectibles companies in America, specializing in the design, creation, and distribution of figures based on famous entertainment industry properties from film, TV, video games, books, and the music industry, as well as celebrities, sports figures and other notable personalities, has announced its expansive new action figure and toy lineup for TOYFAIR 2005. Jerry Macaluso, president/founder, SOTA Toys, made the announcement.
SOTA’s new 2005 toyline will include:
STREET FIGHTER ACTION FIGURES, SERIES # 2 & # 3
With SOTA Toys’ “Street Fighter Action Figures Series # 1” voted “The # 1 New Action Figure Line of 2004” by Toyfair Magazine,” SOTA Toys is proud to announce its upcoming “Street Fighter “Series 2 & 3” action figures. The second set of Street Fighter figures consists of the characters Ken, Cammy, Vega, T-Hawk, and Blanka. The Series # 3 figures are based on the characters Guile, Sakura, Adon, Balrog,Gen, and Dimitri Maximof. Series # 2 is set for release to the public during early 2005.
STREET FIGHTER “ROTO-CAST” ACTION FIGURES:
During 2005, SOTA Toys will be also be presenting the company’s first Roto-Cast “Street Fighter” action figures. The first two figures to be released will be based on the characters Ryu and Sagat. They will be in 10” scale, with Sagat being a little taller than Ryu, as well as being all-new sculptures of the characters. The figures will also feature a first for the Street Fighter line, which is cloth outfits. The figures will feature ball joints in the shoulders, neck and hips, with swivel joints in the waist, elbow and calves. The new Street Fighter Roto-Cast figures will be available at retailers and online during Spring 2005.
CHARMED ACTION FIGURES, SERIES # 2, AND “SPIRIT BOARD”:
During 2004, SOTA Toys released its Series # 1 of the cast members of the hit WB TV network’s series “Charmed.” During 2005, the company will be releasing “Charmed Action Figures, Series 2,” which has the three sexy females stars of that show (Shannon Dougherty, Rose McGowan, and Holly Marie Combs,) dressed in “warrior princess” type garb from an episode of that series which was entitled “Vahalley Of The Dolls.” Also, SOTA will introduce the figure of Leo (based on actor Brian Krause, the husband of the character “Piper,”) in a “roman gladiator” type outfit.
SOTA has will also be releasing a little bit of magic from the Charmed TV show - the “Charmed Spirit Board.” This board is an exact replica of the prop used within the “Charmed” TV series itself. The design was taken directly from the authentic prop, measures more than 24 inches wide, more than 12 inches wide, and is nearly three inches thick. “The Spirit Board” has a full alphabet and numeric symbols inscribed on the top, with an inscribed message from the girls’ mother, and also comes with a matching planchete, designed in a similar motif to the board. Suggested retail price for the Charmed Spirit Board will be $249.99
The new board will “materialize” in 2005 at EntertainmentEarth.com, CinQuest.com, and other fine retailers.
TWIZTID:
SOTA Toys will be releasing an action figure of the band Twiztid. Protégés of the Insane Clown Posse, the Detroit-area Caucasian rap duo Twiztid based their act on a similarly theatrical, outrageous, makeup-heavy image and an obsession with serial-killer horror films. Jamie Madrox and the Monoxide Child will soon be available in a 7" high vinyl figure version. Comes packaged in a window box, in the Spring of 2005. For more information, please see http://www.twiztid.com/ (http://www.twiztid.com/)
DARKSTALKERS:
SOTA Toys will be releasing a new line of action figures, “Darkstalkers,” based on the very popular videograme franchise from 2000 of that name. Set in the “Dark World,” the action in “Darkstalkers” takes place when a mysterious entity appears in the night sky to assemble the wicked and the evil. The secret power of the dark is unleashed. Eighteen supernatural creatures of myth and legend now materialize to wage their eternal war against mortals for domination of the night. The fate of all humanity rests on who wins this epic struggle. A new “Darkstalkers” videogame will be released during Summer 2005.
Now Playing, Series # 1 and # 2:
SOTA Toys has developed an action figure line, based on contemporary, classic horror films, under the brand name “Now Playing.” The Action Figures from the Now Playing line originally came to life from the movie screen as either heroes, villains, creatures, monsters or madmen.
The Now Playing Series # 1 consists of action figures based on characters from the movies “Darkman,” (directed by Sam Raimi,) “An American Werewolf in London,” (directed by John Landis,) and “The Toxic Avenger,” (directed by Lloyd Kaufman.) “Darkman” and “American Werewolf” figures both licensed from Universal Studios; “Toxic Avenger” licensed from Troma Entertainment. The Series # 1 figures are available soon through retailers, and stand approximately 7 inches tall, with each coming with a character specific base. The manufacturers suggested retail price for each figure is $ 12.99.
"Sota Toys' 'Toxie' action figure is better than the movie, and sexier, too! I'm sure that fans and collectors around the world will hoist their mops in gratitude for Sota's hideously deformed action figure of superhuman size and strength. For the first time in my life, I don't feel guilty about playing with something 6-inches long!" said Lloyd Kaufman, President, Troma Entertainment, Inc., and creator, "The Toxic Avenger"
The Now Playing Series # 2 line will include characters “The Creeper” from the film “Jeepers Creepers 2,” “Klown” from “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” (both licensed from MGM,) and “Imhotep” from “The Mummy Returns” (licensed from Universal Studios.)
Additionally, under the “Now Playing” brand, Sota Toys will introduce an 18” action figure called “Lord of Darkness” from Ridley Scott’s film “Legend,” a “Darkman” mini-bust, and an “American Werewolf in London” mini-bust.
Said Mr. Macaluso, “These Now Playing characters were bigger, badder and cooler than we ever thought possible. SOTA Toys will be turning some classic and cult movie characters into dynamic action figures. Now Playing has really been a labor of love for me. These are characters from movies that I grew up with and always loved watching over the years. So when the opportunity came for SOTA TOYS to make these classic characters into action figures, we dove head first. This new product line has been a year in development, and I’m really proud of the various characters we’ll be producing.”
NIGHTMARES OF LOVECRAFT ACTION FIGURES:
SOTA Toys will also be producing and distributing a line of action figures based on the characters Cthulu, Shoguth, and Pickman’s Model, which first appeared within the pages of books from famed classic horror writer H. P. Lovecraft.
AN 18" LORD OF DARKNESS!!!! OMG!!! They will be introducing it next month. I know where my money is going to in may.

Personally, I am very disappointed in this line overall. I think they dropped the ball on what could have been a very original, creative line of figures by resorting to their "standard" monster/creature for the male figures (Humpty/Hansel/Peter), and their "standard" dominatrix/s-l-u-t for the female figures (Gretel/Miss Muffet). The only one I think is creative and "fits" the fairy tale character is Red Riding Hood.

Glad to hear your opinion and glad to see other members helping me with the thread. Thanks alot Sly. I agree with you as well I'm disapointed in this line they could have been more creative, maybe even throw in a boxed set to raise the hype or the excitment about this new line. But I think we can expect better from the Corpse Bride lines, as those will dominat McFarlane's production this year. We should just wait and see.

DITTO. Talk about a one trick pony, McF seems to have the same concept for every line-up. Don't forget Sly we get another 'guy in a cage' this time...woo hoo!
What a waste of talented sculpters, and I won't even get started on articulation. I'm just glad they didn't get the Hellboy license, thank you Mezco!

I hope so Rip. After the excellent work NECA did with the new NBX figures I was sure that they would get other Burton properties. So needless to say I was a bit disappointed with McF announcing that they had picked-up this license.
The characters shouldn't require too much articulation so that won't be much of an issue. And McF's obvious strength is their sculpting so they should come out with some good looking figures.
But we'll see what the quality is like. I've been really disappointed with their materials and paint ops for awhile.

He may "fit", but I don't find him all that creative or visually appealing. That's what I meant when I said that Red Riding Hood was the only one I think fits and is creative. He just looks like any other McFarlane "monster" figure.... and IMO is destined to be Kin "Reborn" as far as peg warming goes. :p :D

Agreed! I've been collecting McToys for quite some time, and the quality seems to have taken a serious downturn over the last few lines. Both in terms of paint app (which I don't "care" about as much) and durability (which is annoying as hell).
It seems like McToys breaking was a rarity at one point, now it seems like every other figure someone opens an arm or leg falls off straight out the box! Not to mention, even if they don't outright "break", the joints on some of the most recent aliens/preds have been so loose (again, straight from the get go), that it is damn near impossible to get the buggers to stand!
Hope they get their QA under control.

Here is some News From NECA
Don't be afraid you're safe with me, safe as any soul can be. Honestly, just let yourself go. Caught somewhere in this box is this awesome 3D representation of Eddie, the infamous Iron Maiden album cover mascot, from the album "Somewhere In Time". Sculpted by Kyle "Tankman" Windrix and painted by Ed Repka, this 18 Inch action figure will come with 3 guns and a special treat for the big fans of Maiden. Just like when Iron Maiden was on tour in 1986/1987, the 18 Inch Eddie will feature Motion Activated ... motion! His arm will "shoot" his large gun and his eye will flash, much like the old stage prop used in that tour.
In adition to the 18 Incher, expect a 7" scale version of the "Somewhere In Time" figure, with diorama to be released this spring, as well as a 7" scale "Piece of Mind" Action figure/diorama set.

Them getting the Corpse Bride license is the biggest proof that McF knows that NECA has surpassed them, and that they are crapping their pants because of that. NECA probably went for the license, but Todd probably just threw more money at them.

MORE ZIM! Jhonen may have stopped making our favorite cartoon but Palisades is determined to keep the dream alive. LONG LIVE ZIM!!!...
No details yet on a release date, but Palisades were nice enought to let us cut loose with the full regular release line-up for Invader Zim Series 2. This concept board was seen at the UK toyfair going on NOW..well not right now..they've all gone to bed..but can we sleep? nooo...
Invader Zim series 2 consists of...
<LI>The Tallest Red
<LI>Human Boy Disguise Zim
<LI>Gir in Dog Suit
<LI>Gaz
<LI>Zim's Robot Parents
Also on the way are more Hot Topic exclusives including the just announced Gir in Dog Suit with the head off just shown today in Palisade's Daily Bit. One last piece of info I can give is about a little boy who came to Zim's school practically attached at his hip. Actually, it was more like his face. The second Hot Topic exclusive will be Zim in Human Disguise with Pastulio, the giant hypnotic zit, attached to his green head. How's that for an exclusive toy? Check out the Zim episode "The Rise of Zit Boy" and you'll know what I'm talking about!

Another big announcement at this year's UK ToyFair is that Palisades will be doing a 4" Army Builder line based on Terminator 2...
Again, whilst there is concept art and pictures of prototypes on show at the Gear 4 Games booth, no pictures are allowed, but for those of you familiar with the Army of Darkness line, expect something similar... 4" highly articulated figures.
No line ups have been announced, but Palisades said that this line is going to be very much an Army Builder line.
If you're at the UK ToyFair this week (sorry trade only folks), be sure to stop by Gear 4 Games stand and check out the pictures on show
I think its going to be a good year this year for Terminator fans. With this annoucment of these 4" figures as well as the 18" Endoskleton that Neca is doing as well as merch and replicas that sideshow will be doing.

WORD!
IMO NECA is rocking McF's azz right now. And I continue to see McF product clogging the pegs in my city (There's a ton of Conan & MManiacs. Even SOTA is doing a photorealistic movie line (Coming Soon) that has good looking sculpts and cult-movie characters.
McF is gonna be stuck making figures of played out metal bands, athlete's, & un-original 'original' lines (Monsters).
All this makes me wonder why neither of these companies has been able to nail a movie line as well as Mezco did HB. (Sculpting & Articulation)

As awesome and beautiful as that may be, it also means that different breeds of psychos and killers can be in two different worlds, yet be so close to each other. Get the latest scoop on new Lord of the Rings merchandise.
UK Toy Fair 2005 started today and LOTRG.com staff member Dean Wright was there to get the scoop on new Lord of the Rings Merchandise. Here's what he had to report:
Toy Biz - Vivid Imagination, the UK Toy Biz Distributors, would not allow photos to be taken of new Figures. The stuff that they had on display was mostly stuff we have all seen anyway but they did have a Gothmog figure (which looked fantastic) and some of the assortment 5 stuff (due for release in March). They did not have the Battle cry Uruk Hai on display but confirmed it is coming out.
There is some interesting news on the epic figure lines, there will be 4 assortments this year. Asst 1. is due to be released in May, Asst 2 - July, Asst 3 - Sept and Asst.4 - Oct. Vivid did say the Orc in Asst. 1will be the Orc that has the Skull on its head, but sadly there was no info on Asst 2, 3 & 4 as to there line up other than that they will consist of figures from all 3 films
Other than that the Fell Beast on display was the original and the gift packs are due for release in March. The Pelennor Fields gift pack is awesome, and as we know contains Legolas, Gimli, Army of the Dead warrior, Mumakil Driver and Morannon Orc these last 3 are great. The best news of all though is that Toy Biz is keen to continue the licence into next year!
NECA - There were no Lord of the Ring NECA figures on display but I was told that Gandalf and the Balrog are definitely due out this year, Gandalf will be released in April and the Balrog will be later in the year.
Sabertooth Games - New figures for the popular tradeable miniatures game were on display including recently released Two Towers figures, the upcoming Paths of the Dead figures. Also on display were two upcoming additions to the premium line, the Fell Beast and Attack Troll. Cards Inc. - One of the most interesting new collectibles shown at the show were Card Inc.'s Lord of the Rings cookie Jars. They include Sauron, Gimli and Gollum.

Hasbro surprised us today, with their upcoming Chronicles of Narnia figures, which I think a lot of LOTR fans will go nuts over...
It's unusual to hear me gush about a Hasbro product, not because of any issues with the company, it's just very few of their items are comparable to the best out there.
However, that could all change as Hasbro will be releasing thier Chronicles of Narnia Toys 6 weeks before the movie.
Hasbro has the master toy license for the upcoming "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" movie adaption, and were showing a number of lines at the UK ToyFair.
And you know what... they have some really nice potential. Unfortunatley, we aren't able to bring you photos just yet, but we're hoping we can show you come the US ToyFair. I think if you're a Lord of the Rings fan, you should start paying attention to this line. The sculpting is superb, and whilst I have wondered all day who sculpted the figures (Nomad and I quizzed Hasbro and also tried to work it out whilst we were there), I now think they bear the hallmark of Gentle Giant. Still needs to be confirmed, but hopefully this will give you an idea of the quality.
We paid attention to 2 main lines. The Action Figure line and the PVC Miniature line
The action figure line comes in regular and deluxe, the deluxe containing figures like the Minotaur and Cyclops. Style-wise they reminded me a lot of the first Episode 2 figures... dynamically pre-posed with limited articulation. My biggest issue with the line is that I feel it needs to be slightly bigger to capture a lot of Lord of the Rings collectors. The Action Figure line seems to be more to a 5" scale than 6" and I think that could be a dealbreaker for some people.
The PVC Miniature line reminded me instantly of Armies of Middle Earth, and Hasbro had a number of figures on display from the final battle.
We hope to get more details at the US ToyFair, but so far, this has been the line Nomad and I have been most impressed with.
original article can be found here - http://www.action-figure.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=13779&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0
I really hope we learn more about this line, interms of who is sculpting the figures as well as details on possible larger figures. I personal can't wait.

Another ToyBiz line to look forward to in 2005 is the Marvel Figure Factory line, which many fans have wondered what they were. Well, wonder no longer...
Again, there was no photography this year at Vivid's booth at the UK ToyFair, so we can't show you anything just yet, but we are allowed to tell you about what we saw. And like the Superhero Showdown, what we saw were actual prototypes and not cards or mock ups.
So we want to tell you a little about Figure Factory, which we got to see yesterday. This is a new line from ToyBiz, and I think a lot of you are gonna love this line.
These can be best described as Marvel Gashapon, with each piece standing around 2 inches high. These are pre-posed mini static figures in dynamic poses
There were a number of pieces on display, the most striking of which was Thing punching the ground, with anime style shock waves stretching out in front of him.
The packaging design is a little strange as well. The figures are actually carded rather than just boxed, but where the main blister would be on a regular figure is a carded box in the style of a crate angled at 45% on a slope. It's certainly eye catching, and we assume this design means that the figures will be blind boxed.
Now I know some will point to Canadian Distributor website and state the line up (See Here (http://www.grand.com/Products.htm?CD=90)) but I would take those line ups as a guide and not definitive. I've already had info that clashes with what they are saying for ToyBiz next year (from other distributors), and last year they had completely different information on Marvel Legends line ups from those that were announced in Hong Kong or UK. ToyBiz are also reknowned for changing their assortments around this time of year in the lead up to the US ToyFair. I'm not trying to cast doubt on that information or put down those who talk about it, it's just at this time of year there are a lot of different assortment line ups going around, of which Grand's is only one (Grand's information in the past has tended to be the most out of date), and could and most likely will change before the US ToyFair.

Whilst no-one was allowed to take pictures in Vivid's booth, I do have some info on the mysterious upcoming Marvel Super Hero Showdown...
We got to check out ToyBiz today, and by and large it didn't throw any surprises to the team at Action-Figure.
Photography was forbidden, so we're unable to bring you any pictures, but we can wet your appettite for New York.
We've been curious about the Marvel Super Hero Showdown since it first started appearing on Pre-order lists some time back. Today we got to see it, and whilst it looks like it may undergo tweaking before New York, the concept on display was impressive.
Imagine you took your Marvel Legends figures and shrunk them down to 4" or so, but kept the detail and the artiulation. Well that appears to be what Marvel Super Hero Showdown is going for.
The figures we saw weren't as articulated as their Marvel Legends cousins as far as I could see (the most noticable I remember being that the hinged shoulders seemed to be absent), but they were still very good, and things could change as ToyFair approaches.
There seemed to be 2-packs and single packs on display, and I remember seeing what looked like a sepereate action feature accessory in the 2-pack.
A number of figures were on display including Doc Ock, Ghost Rider, Captain America, some including shrunk down versions of the clear Marvel Legends stand used to good effect in the Marvel Legends Fantastic Four Boxed Set
I'm actually quite excited by these. From what I could see and was told, it looks like everything isn't all finalised yet, but I would defintely make a note for this to be a line to watch come the US ToyFair.
Online retailers are listing these as 6" (yeah I know... the ones I saw today were 4" or so) and featuring a line up of
Black Costume Spider-Man
Doc Ock
Ghostrider
Punisher
for series 1 and for series 2
Iron Man
Human Torch
Dr. Doom
Captain America

Sin Day 3: Gail
Broads. In life they come and go, but some broads stay in your mind forever. The dames of Sin City really do have a way of staying in your head. I mean, they should really get tired from how much they run through your mind. Sexy, sleek, devious, daring, and many other adjectives can be used to describe these women. Either way, some of them just look damn hot holding an Uzi, provided it's not pointed directly at you. Anyhow, here is a look at the top broad in Old Town.
Gail: She's the boss. Beautiful. Merciless. Any of the Old Town girls are hair-trigger ready to die - or to kill - for her. And they wind up doing both. Plenty of both. When Detective Lieutenant "Iron Jack" Rafferty winds up dead in her alley, she's ready to fight until death to defend her girls

News Regarding The Just Rewards Figure Of Spike,
Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles, LLC (DST) and Action Figure Xpress (AFX) are offering collectors an exclusive action figure based on one of the most popular characters from the hit TV shows Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer with the Angel: “Just Rewards” Spike Action Figure.
“We are ecstatic to be a part of Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles’ all-new Angel action figure line,” said AFX President Pat Wang. “The Willow action figures sold very well for us, so it only made sense for us to continue the success through this exclusive Spike figure from DST.”
Designed by Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles (who also produced the figures) and Gentle Giant Studios (who also sculpted the figures), and offered exclusively by AFX, the figure depicts the vampire anti-hero (portrayed by actor James Marsters) as he appeared in the fifth season episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Featuring Spike in his menacing vampire form, the action figure – which is scheduled to be released in late January – stands approximately 6” tall and features 16 points of articulation. The figure also comes with a battle axe, a cross with an altar, a stake, a jacket, a bag of blood, and a railroad spike.
“Besides the fact that Fox’s Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer continue to enjoy great success with their best-selling DVD releases,” said Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles Marketing and Sales Coordinator Scott Braden, “the character of Spike, in his own right, has garnered a sizable fan base. And with this exclusive figure presenting Spike in one of his most classic vampire poses – from an episode that depicted him at his fiercest – it’s no wonder that fans are clamoring to get their hands on this must-have action figure!”

Another Spike figure at Gear 4 Games' booth at the UK ToyFair was this "Beneath You" Spike that they will make available in the UK
Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles, LLC and online retailer Time and Space Toys (http://www.timeandspacetoys.com/) are offering collectors an exclusive action figure based on one of the most popular characters from the hit TV shows Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer with the Angel: “Beneath You” Spike Action Figure.
“Fans have been wanting brighter additions to their Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer action figure collections," said Time and Space Toys President Kevin Kriess. "We are happy to meet this demand with the blue shirt-clad, soul fully restored Spike as seen in the Season 7 Buffy episode, ‘Beneath You.’”
Designed by Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles (who also produced the figures) and Gentle Giant Studios (who also sculpted the figures), and offered exclusively by Time and Space Toys, the figure depicts the vampire anti-hero (portrayed by actor James Marsters) as he appeared in the episode “Beneath You,” and comes with a blue shirt, a Zippo® lighter, a cross with an altar, a rat, a stake, and a shovel. Standing approximately 6” tall, this figure – which comes with 16 points of articulation – is targeted for a late January release.
“Our Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer collectible releases have proven to be enormously popular with toy collectors,” said Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles Director Chuck Terceira. “With this exclusive figure depicting Spike from one of his most memorable appearances, it’s no wonder that consumers are looking forward to adding this much-anticipated figure to their collections.”

Yeah but will the T2 Palz suck like the AOD ones??
The only one that sucked was Ash, and S-Mart Ash looks to be better anyway.
All this makes me wonder why neither of these companies has been able to nail a movie line as well as Mezco did HB. (Sculpting & Articulation)
Because it's so hard to combine the two without it looking weird.
Hellboy was easier because a lot of the articulation could be hidden.
EDIT: The AOD Army Builder 2-Pack (http://www.palisadesdirectstore.com/viewproduct.asp?productid=65) and the Space Jockey Micro Statue (http://www.palisadesdirectstore.com/viewproduct.asp?productid=64) are both now available.

I only just now read the post regarding some of the new LOTR and Marvel figures. That sounds really exciting. I have managed to buy multiples of every Uruk Hai figure released, and the idea of some new ones makes me happy inside.
Of course, any new (hopefully obscure) Marvel character figures should be worth looking out for......Has anyone else noticed how tough certain figures from the last couple Legends assortment have been to locate on the pegs. Unlike, the earlier series-which were definitely over-ordered, these last couple series have been severely under-ordered. Why does this "phenomenon" almost always happen with most toy lines that last more than a series or two? The first few series get massively over-ordered, as a result many of them warm the pegs for weeks/months. Then, as a result of the "poor" sales of the first series-the following series are "cautiously" under-ordered; thus creating this secondary market horror. Alas, tis the way of the toy.

UK TOYFAIR: Furby Returns (http://www.action-figure.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=13846&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0)
Hasbro has issued a press release about their new look Furby they will be releasing in 2005, that we got to see at the UK ToyFair last week...
FURBY, one of the best-selling toys ever with 40 million pieces sold globally, is back! Hasbro, Inc.'s Tiger Electronics is introducing an all-new, evolved FURBY creature driven by Hasbro's new EMOTO-TRONICS, the ultimate combination of advanced robotic technology, puppetry and realistic lifelike reactions and movements. Hasbro's evolved FURBY creature will be available worldwide this fall in a number of versions, including English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Italian.
The evolved FURBY creature features a wide range of emotions and motions, advanced voice recognition, enhanced communication between kids and other FURBY toys, and an impressive "bilingual" vocabulary of "Furbish" and English. In fact, the FURBY creature has six times the memory of the original. Together, these innovations make the new FURBY toy an extremely lifelike, clever, fun, cute and "realistic" creature.
"FURBY captured the imagination of the world when it was first introduced seven years ago," said Brian Goldner, Hasbro's Toy Group president. "Since then, advances in technology and the evolution of robotics and puppetry have made it possible for us to create an even better FURBY than the original."
"FURBY became a historic best seller and a cultural phenomenon when it hit the market in 1998," said toy and children's lifestyle expert Chris Byrne. "The new, evolved FURBY is so much more advanced than the original--it is truly amazing. FURBY certainly has the earmarks of one of the potentially hot toys of 2005."
The emotional response of the new FURBY creature is one of the most noticeable changes from the original. EMOTO-TRONICS allows the FURBY creature to react based on how a child interacts with it. FURBY creatures can speak, dance, sing, tell jokes, play games and express their moods in a variety of ways. A fully flexible beak, expressive eyes, and movable ears and eyebrows make it possible for the creature to smile, laugh, frown and even produce an awe-filled gasp.
Advanced voice recognition adds another level of technological sophistication to the FURBY creature's evolution. Now, the FURBY creature can "listen" to you and respond based on his "mood". The FURBY creature will be able to speak hundreds of programmed words and dozens of phrases in "Furbish" and English.
The evolved FURBY creature will be larger than the original. The increased size accommodates the multi-motor system that brings the toy to life and doubles the toy's animation features. One of the motors is devoted exclusively to the toy's facial expressions.
Where Does FURBY Come From?
The FURBY creature comes from FURBY ISLAND. It was there that a family discovered two FURBY creatures--E-Lo and E-Hi. When the family is ready to move on to its next adventure they take E-Lo and E-Hi with them to help them re-unite with other FURBY creatures.
The FURBY toy will be released worldwide in the fall of 2005 and will be available in white, black and white, gray and pink, and brown and pink. The approximate retail price will be $39.99.
And I can't wait to get me one!!

Series 9, we all know about, and really this didn't hold any surprises. They had all the figures there, although after someone mentioned it afterwards I don't remember Professor X there. War Machine was carded without his mask on and showed how the parts of Galactus will be packaged. The pieces are NOT going to be random, meaning that if you pick up all the regular figures, you'll have your Galactus.
The line up for those who don;t know is:
Deathlok
Bullseye
First Appearance Grey Hulk
Nightcrawler
Dr. Strange
War Machine
Professor X
Galactus himself is better than I had hoped. I had expected a rotocast Galactus with basic articulation, but the figure they had on display at the UK ToyFair had double elbows, articulated thumbs and fingers, and simply looked stunning.
However, this was not all they had, as Vivid were also showing concept art and line ups for Series 10 and 11. Now, as I've reported, these line ups often change this time of the year, but the Canadian ToyFair was going on simultaneously, and I can confirm the exact same artwork was shown there. OK, things could still change, but I doubt the line ups will change much more than a figure here and there.
Series 10 will be the Sentinel Series, and yes, the figures will contain parts to build a Sentinel. If it's as good as Galactus I seriously could see people buying multiple sets to create their own Sentinel army. What's more, each figure comes with a specific part, so you won't need to buy each figure more than once to get the Snetinel
First Appearance Spider-man - This will come with the head of the sentinel
Cyclops - I think this is the ultimate version but can't be 100% sure. I remember the art showing him with a T-Shirt and big yellow boots in the style of the classic Cyclops. He'll come with one of the Snetinel's arms
Angel - Red & White Costume. He'll come with one of the Sentinel's legs
Mr Sinister - As far as I remember he had a high collar that was red on the inside. He'll also come with a leg
Black Panther - We've already seen this figure as part of our San Diego Comic Con coverage. He'll come with an arm
Omega Red - I'm not familiar with the source material so I can't give any clues on the art style. However, the board I saw did show him with the pelivs of the Sentinel
Mystique - She'll come in a white dress and come with what I think is part of the torso for the Sentinel
Series 11 is entitled legendary riders. Each figure will come with a mini vehicle such as a jet bike or glider, etc in much the same way Cable and Ghost Rider did. If the truth be told, the concept art for the vehicles left me wanting, mainly because I would have preferred another large figure, but I think we need to wait for prototypes before casting any judgement
The line up shown was:
Premiere Thing - I can't read my notes so premiere might be the wrong word, but he comes with a jet bike
Logan - Dressed in jacket and jeans and comes with a motorcycle
Iron Man Hulk Buster - Looks like it will be HUGE, and comes with a form of glider
Wonderman - comes dressed in a sleeveless dark T-shirt witha W on it, and comes with an accessory that reminded me of a jet ski
Vengeance - Nomad commented about how he thought this was an odd choice, but yes vengence is in ML 11. He'll come with a motorcycle
Task Master - This is in the same style as that Bowen bust we showed some months back, and he comes with something that looked like a glider to me
Ultron - Ultron was much wider than I expected with almost bat-ear style antenae. He'll come with some form of glider
Scarlett Witch - Classic Red outfit, and came with something that looked like a Jet Ski
We should find out more about these line up at the US ToyFair in New York later this month, but on the one question a lot of people have been asking I do have some details.
The news I'm hearing out of the UK is that Marvel Legends 9 will be May. I'm actually quite surprised at that as both UK and Canadian ToyFair had packaged samples on display and had guessed March. Still May would give a lot of us time to catch up with the ones we are currently missing from previous series. Again, it'll be New York before we know for sure, but if I hear anything in the meantime, I'll be sure to let you know.

Gear 4 Games had a number of items on display at their booth based on the upcoming Batman Begins Movie, including this Action Cape Batman...
Batman is in great form with this 14" tall, highly articulated, super-detailed action figure! With over thirty points of articulation, you can put Batman in many action poses, plus, the figure includes a pop-out cape that dramatically extends into gliding position! Window box packaging.
We originally had June 2005 down for the release of this, although we've heard that the release date for Batman Begins toys in the UK (other than the sneak preview Batmobile) is April 2nd. Yep, the same April 2nd as is currently scheduled for the release of Episode 3 toys. Expect this to be changed.

The release of Batman Begins might still be a fair way off, but Aussie Batman fans can tide themselves over with some great new Batman figures from Mattel, which are hitting K-Mart stores here in Australia right now. As of now, they are an Australian exclusive, and have yet to show up anywhere else in the world. This long awaited series features two all new villains, Bane and Scarecrow, a new black and blue repaint of Nightwing (formerly the blue and yellow version with short hair) and of course a few new Batman figures in various outfits. The figures sell for roughly $17 each.
So, the figures most of you will care about, the villains, are packed at one per case each it seems. Each has an unobtrusive spring loaded action feature, which shouldn't bother too many people.
Bane is a very bulky figure. He has a lot of articulation; a ball joint head, elbow joints, swiveling boots, and ankle articulation that allows them to move back and forward and side to side like most current Toy biz figures. He comes with a transparent venom tube attached to his wrist and head. His accessory is a small pair of spiked knuckle dusters that attach to either fist.
Scarecrow is also extremely articulated. With the same articulation as Bane, includoing a unique head joint alowing good movement to all sides, and also swivel joints in mid biceps and thighs, and ball joint hips. His accessory is a small skull bomb and the most ridiculously over sized scyth you have ever seen, with a pitch fork at the other end.
Both of these figures look fantastic, and show a big improvement on past figures in the series. A shame that it looks like the line has now come to an end, as it would have been nice to get a few more major villains and characters out of the line. So keep your eyes peeled, these are two figures well worth owning!
Be sure to check out OzFigures.com (http://www.ozfigures.com/) in the meantime for more carded and loose pictures of these new figures.

I have a ? about the new Sin City movie line. This may have already been asked, but I was curious if these figures will be offered in gray scale and color. Will there be two versions of every figure (color wise)? Most of the pics I have seen they appear to be black and white, but a few pics seem to show them in color. Not sure, I could just be trippin'. Either way, most of what I have seen is impressive. I'm actually looking forward to this movie.

According to NECA:
"The majority of the figures in Series I will be produced in black and white, with a smaller number of "Chase" figures in full color. Though the Bastard will always be Yellow, he will feature 2 different head variations. There will be an 18" Marv as well, along with some exclusives to be announced soon."

For those that are either to lazy to follow links ;) , or who missed them earlier in the thread, I've collected all the SIN CITY figure stuff together here. :)
MARV:The biggest bad-ass in all of Basin City. He's a borderline psychopath on a mission to find the killer of his beloved Goldie, and he will stop at nothing until he uncovers the truth. All it took was one night for Goldie to be cemented into his heart for ever, and now he must find who is responsible for her death.
http://anthonyheald.com/Misc/marvpose.jpg
http://www.necaonline.com/marv640.jpg
YELLOW BASTARD: The son of the most powerful man in Basin City, Roark Jr. used his immunity to prey on young girls until Officer John Hartigan stepped in. With his son left for dead, Senator Roark uses every bit of money and power he has to save his life. Surgeons, gurus, homeopathic witch doctors and genetic therapists. There were side effects, but he's up and running again and that Yellow Bastard is looking for sweet little Nancy. The little snot. He ought to be dead. But here he is. Back in action. And he smells awful...
http://www.necaonline.com/yellowbpose.jpg
http://www.necaonline.com/yellowb640.jpg
GAIL: She's the boss. Beautiful. Merciless. Any of the Old Town girls are hair-trigger ready to die - or to kill - for her. And they wind up doing both. Plenty of both. When Detective Lieutenant "Iron Jack" Rafferty winds up dead in her alley, she's ready to fight until death to defend her girls.
http://anthonyheald.com/Misc/gailpose.jpg
http://www.necaonline.com/gail640.jpg
MANUTE: Nobody knows where he came from, and nobody ever will. He serves his masters ruthlessly. Efficiently. Brutally. Mercilessly. Pray you never meet him. The moment you do will likely be your last. Played by Michael Clark Duncan, this character requires a sheer size and strength that only he can deliver. Just like in real life, this Michael Clark Duncan figure is going to be huge, just not as big as the man himself.
http://www.necaonline.com/manutepose.jpg
http://www.necaonline.com/manute640.jpg
NANCY: At age 11, skinny little Nancy Callahan was abducted by Roark Jr. and rescued by Officer John Hartigan. Now 19 years of age, she's grown up and filled out. She's the act everyone comes to see on stage at Kadie's Club, including the two men who changed her life eight years ago.

A brick wall of a man. Manute was originally the chauffeur and/or security chief for Damien and Ava Lord. He is a man of brute strength and immense size who is oddly polite. Manute is fanatically loyal to those he serves and does what is required of him without question. Played by Michael Clarke Duncan, this character requires a sheer size and strength that only he can deliver. Just like in real life, this Michael Clarke Duncan figure is going to be huge, just not as big as the man himself.

LOL, No. Just sometimes companies and retailers feel the need to raise hype, and if were to say something like the company released these pics or the distributor did. *cough'grand'cough* That I may get in trouble just like reveiling some of the pics I have without having permission to do so.

Where the hell are you getting these pictures?
All you have to do is search the web; it's not that hard if you have/take the time. ;) Ripper's just kind enough to do it for us. :)
I will be post some news in a couple of minutes regarding colour varitations.
News update coming.....
Guess you decided not to go with my suggestion of only posting the actual news.... not posts telling us you are gonna be posting news huh? (And didn't prune out the dozen or so old ones) :p
Dude, your post count is fine.... how 'bout tightening up the thread by not posting "filler" like that??

"Palisades Toys is proud to present their first series of action figures based on director Sam Raimi's 1993 cult-classic film, Army of Darkness. This horror/comedy/adventure/action/fantasy movie follows the adventures of Ash (Bruce Campbell) as he is transported back in time to 1400 A.D., where he must fight an army of Deadite soldiers, led by an evil version of himself, and retrieve the Necronomicon (the Book of the Dead) to return home. Now you can create your own Army of Darkness at home, with Palisades' new fully articulated and eye-poppingly detailed 4-inch scale action figures."
Series 1 is out now and includes:
Hero Ash/Deadite Scout 2-pack
Pit Witch/Deadite Centurion 2-pack
Knight/Deadite Pikeman 2-pack
Deadite/Deadite Footsoldier 2-pack

"NECA is proud to announce the acquisition of the license for "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" from Buena Vista Pictures. Covering a large range of collectibles, from action figures to giftware, this film's high anticipation has collectors and Douglas Adams fans all lined up with glee. Expect a full line of detailed action figures, based on these timeless and legendary characters to go along with the film."
Marvin!
Marvin the Paranoid Android will be available in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Action Figures Series. Marvin features a balljointed neck and shoulders, bending elbows, swivel wrists, hinge waist, and v-crotch articulation.
http://www.necaonline.com/marvinfig.jpg
In addition to the action figure series from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Marvin will also be popping up on shelves as a 10 inch tall action figure. Featuring loads of articulation, light up eyes, and a film accurate sculpt, Marvin is going to be an awesome little/big addition to your collection. Look for Marvin to hit stores in April.

HITCHHIKER'S UPDATE CONT'D
Arthur Dent
He's just a hapless six-foot tall ape decendant who was rescued from the Earth by Ford Prefect just before it was destroyed by a Vogon Constructor Fleet to make way for a hyperspace bypass. He travelled all over the galaxy, including doing a stint as Sandwich Maker on Lamuella, where he was briefly happy. Here is a brief look at poor Arthur Dent in action figure form.
