My kids are gonna grow up with zombies and gore, so honestly from a 15yr olds pov I don't think age matters. I've never drawn or deliberatly broken my dolls. Never. And my nanny gave me a very nice expensive Ashton-Drake re-born baby when I was 4 and she's still in somewhat(hair needs brushed but that's all it gets tangled) perfect condition. And I still have her in my room. Her name is Emma

Your nanny? Reborn baby? Sounds like someone's got money... Just kidding, we're pretty much the same age!

Re: how old ?
lol, she got it as a gift and didn't like it(and she has a lot of normal baby dolls, and she thought Emma was creepy. Emma has that toothy babydoll smile) so she became mine!!
Yay!! Are we really almost the same age?! That would be AWESOME!!!

Re: how old ?
Yeah, I heard a lot of people say the dolls are pretty creepy. And yeah, I'll be fifteen in June!

Re: how old ?
As long as LDD keeps an edge about it and is willing to occasionally push the envelope than that is fine if a tot plays with it.

Re: how old ?
I do admit the thought of five year olds on FB is a scarier thought.

Re: how old ?
6 is too young, and no age too old!
I used to walk in spencers-afraid of them, though that was when I was like-five or so.

Re: how old ?
I look at it this way... if they are valuable enough to make me devistated by the potential of its distruction than I put it WAYYYY up so little hands can't play..but in the words of my oh so smart Nonnie- "they are just things....."

Re: how old ?
I think the age shouldn't matter. It's the maturity level. I got my first doll a week before my 13th birthday. That was like a month and a half ago. I have 5 dolls (Eggy, Posey, Absynth, Roxie, and Spider Bite) and I keep them on top of my massive bookshelf. I take them out of the box to look at them and examine the details and then put them back in the box when I'm done. My parents don't care what I get into as long as I don't spend to much on a single doll. (That'll be a problem with Maggot.) I use my own hard earned allowance and report card money to pay for them. I didn't pay for my first three at they were birthday gifts. My grandparents are horrified that I am so demented to be into them. I love Living Dead Dolls. I even had a kid ask me if I had any of them today and he told me to sell them. I told him he was stupid because I was a collector and I don't care if I could get 1 dollar or 100 dollars of a doll, I'm not selling them.

Re: how old ?
I saw a cute YouTube video of two little girls (six and four, I believe) opening Rose, Violet, Jason, some minis, and (I think) Beetlejuice. XD It was so cute! I think any age is appropriate for these dolls, whether you collect them or play with them. No age is too young/old if the person like it.
I personally am just barely old enough to join this forum, hehe.

Re: how old ?
A lot of people on this forum are a lot younger than I thought. Haha!
As long as the loose parts aren't being ingested, I don't see why they shouldn't be appropriate for any age. It's the appreciation which has an age limit. Obviously you're not going to hand your Series 1 Resurrection Variants off to toddlers, because they can't understand or appreciate the value and rarity in something like that. Any age can have an admiration for aesthetically pleasing features on a doll though, that's why generally speaking, many dolls are manufactured as children's toys.
As for the appreciation of a collectable item and an understanding of value and rarity, that can happen at any age. Some people will obviously develop it earlier than others. I started fairly early on, I collected Goosebumps books when I was around 6 until the original series finished when I was 9. Not a collector's item, but I knew what a good price for them was and I knew some were harder to find than others. I still have the whole original series at home on my bookshelf.
Meanwhile, some people have no appreciation for value and are destructive. It differs as much as cognitive development, it's not really something you can put a set number on.
Just my 2 cents.

Re: how old ?
I now have adopted a daughter, and she is only two. I handed her my 10th anniversary Asian Eggy, and she took such good care of it! All she did was hug it and say "Eggy" (I told her the doll's name). She certainly appreciates them, and probably is not old enough to appreciate them so much, but it's nice she takes care of Eggy.

Re: how old ?
I started collecting like at what...during middle school, and I'm 20.
I don't think age truly matters. I've been into ancient artifacts since I was 4 and I've held some pretty darn expensive things! I think it's how mature you are.
